I.am.exhausted.
Last night was my 3rd night in a row to sleep inadequately without a bed…
I used to be able to sleep anywhere, but apparently that’s not the case anymore. Eesh.
3 nights ago I was on a train from ooty to Chennai. We had a first class coach this time, which just means it had ac. I slept ok but I preferred the 2nd c,ass cabin with no ac… A.c. Had no circulation — the non a.c. Has fans and windows open so the breeze flows through. And for the past 2 months I’ve been used to sleeping without a.c. Anyway. AND this one had bugs. Tiny roach like things. Ew. I woke up several times out of paranoia and several times because one would actually crawl over me. I think I killed one in the night, but when I smashed it against the wall, I realized it was much smaller than the one I had originally been trying to kill… That’s when I knew it was hopeless…
2 nights ago, I flew from India to Singapore. My flight left India around 11pm and arrived in Singapore around 6am. The problem is – it was only a 3hr flight. Aka I got like one hour of sleep… In Singapore, the old group met up for lunch, so other than that I did get to nap a little bit at adekyne,’s house — but it wasn’t more than a total of 3 hours.
Then… Tonight.. Or last night… What ever you call it… And technically right now… I’m flying from Singapore to Melbourne Australia. It’s a good 7 hour fkight. Left around 9pm, will arrive around 7am.. Except that lately I can’t sleep on planes. I used to be able to sleep anywhere, but my last flights over the past year, I find it difficult to even get one hour of sleep… I think its partly because seats on planes are made for normal height people, so the head rest is too high for y head, and even if I get settled in, I end up slouching Down as I sleep and my head falls off the little head wings they have. So annoying. Also, the bottom of my lower back slash spine is bruised ish-I think from too many bad plane seats and also from carrying too many bags.
It makes me understand why people will pay $1000 extra to fly first-class.
Anyway, were like 2 hours from Melbourne and I ha3v a definite feeling I’m going to just find a place to sleep all day…
So anyway, I’ll be arriving in Australia with around total of 9 hours of sleep for the past 3 nights. If you know me at all, 9 hours is a normal 1 nights sleep for me, so this is going to be bad.. Its a definitely possibility I may have to cancel my Sunday plans and sleep… Adelyne’s gonna skill me, but she knows that otherwise I’ll probably be a jerk on edge for this trip and also will most likely end up sick. If this was India, I’m pretty sure I could just offer a little extra cash to ensure they could get our hotel room read several hours early, but I have a feeling Australia isn’t going to work that way…..
