how you going?

that’s what everyone said here in Australia.

‘good day mate. Hoe you going?’

anyway, its always weird going to an english speaking country with different phrasings.

for one, they make a lot of things plural that we wouldn’t.

example, I saw a sign that read ‘haircuts for mens’

you can also buy ice creams. Or waters.

like in England, if you need to use the bathroom, you should ask for the ‘toilet’ as ‘bathroom’ seems a little less mannered…

a lot of people hee have tattoos or crazy colored hair or crazyhairdos. Its kind of fun.

you drive on the left and they’re serious about car safety… There are ‘power nap’ areas along major highways! Also signs that say ‘don’t sleep and drive’. HA.

also, Australians drink a LOT of coffee. There’s a ton of cafes where people stop for breakfast or brunch to eat some variety of eggs, toast, and coffee…

everyone’s really nice and friendly…

so far, Australia has reminded me of

Texas (I think Australians are more cowboys than are Texans)

Colorado (scenery)

Seattle (coffee shops and just around town)

Germany (the Americanness  yet ability to still hold its own unique culture)

Houston (a ton of internationals and as a r3sult food from almost any  country)

new Mexico (dry landscape)

Kansas (farmland, farmland, and more farmland)

Hawaii (the coast along thru great ocean road… Similar to kuaui coast in some ways… Terrain in some places similar to rainforest around the big island)

there are more, but anyway gotta go now…

headed to sydney tonight.

see ya.
