Today has been a bit of a lazy day. It’s HOT here. And we decided that even travelers need a ‘Sunday’ day of rest.
We slept til 9 (that’s 11am Houston time) and enjoyed an awesome complimentary breakfast buffet.
We came back to the hotel… I had some much-needed me-time while everyone else went for a walk.
When they got back, they had a surprise for me that I had to promise to eat before they showed me.
Wanna guess?
Dried crickets and worms. Haha. They took a video of me eating the worm…
After that, we hopped in the car for a short scenic drive.
There were SOOOO many people along the way. Apparently Sedona is the place to be.
Next we drove up to the Chapel of the Holy Cross.
We had lunch and found delicious coffee – even the Italian approved 😉 And came back to our hotel to relax. It’s been a wonderful and refreshing time of ‘girl talk’.
We’re about to hike out to one of the ‘energy vortex points’ of Sedona.
……….
Sedona is said to be one of the few ‘energy vortex points’ in the world. I’m not entirely sure what that means, but it’s a very new-agey place where
Psychics and such come to renew their energies. Fascinating.
There are 4 main points or vortex places in Sedona. One of them has masculine energy. One has
feminine. Two have balance of the energies.
We visited Bell Rock… For the balance…
The pamphlet we read said you can feel the energy as soon as you get out of the car. I can’t say I felt anything other than a nice breeze, but the hike was beautiful.
We sat on the rocks for a while and watched the sun drop below the cliffs. Phenomenal.
We ate Mezican food and plan to sit on the balcony (and maybe even the hot tub) and watch the stars tonight.
And on to the Grand Canyon tomorrow. Woohoo!
