The air in Colorado is so fresh!
My cousin, Rebecca, was nice enough to drive an hour to pick us up from the airport at 7:15am. 🙂 I love my family.
It was great to see her and it was even better that she didn’t have to work all day.
She took us to a cute little breakfast place called Snooze somewhere near downtown Denver I guess.
We walked around a bit and saw Coors Stadium and a dispensary or two. My brother told me he’d literally cry if I don’t smoke something while I’m here, so I’ll guess he’ll be shedding some literal tears.
After breakfast Becca drove us to Golden. That’s where the Coors Brewery and the School of Mines are.
The tour was cool, but everyone who worked there seemed to hate their lives (and it was only 10am… Not like they’d had a long day or something).
Next, we decided to drive up Lookout Mountain Road. A friend who went to school at Mines and recommended the view.
The view is great. You can even see Denver in the distance. (I think). So that’s cool.
We were also SUPER impressed by all the bikers biking UP the road.
In the afternoon, we went to Rebecca and her fiancĂ© Robert’s place in Ft. Collins to rest… We got up at 3:30am for our flight so we were completely exhausted.
We walked to a fun sandwich place for lunch. It was a bike shop slash bar slash sandwich shop. Very unique.
And later we went and played frisbee at the park and explored the downtown area.
This place is way more hippie than anything in Texas.
We came across “The fake bums”. Aka a group of young people who, according to Rebecca and Robert, aren’t actually homeless but act like it. They also have iPhones and several well fed pets on the corner with them. I just felt really confused. I mean, in Houston we have ACTUAL homeless people, but I haven’t come across rich kids pretending to be homeless.
Robert cooked some awesome stir fry for dinner and we all went to bed super early.
I enjoyed time with Rebecca and Robert, and I’m excited to get to see them on the back end of our trip as well! 🙂
