North Dakota

North Dakota was a good decision. We didn’t have much on our agenda here, so we spent the morning sleeping in and being lazy. We were about to get ready to go around noon… But then a movie came on that we had caught like 5 minutes of the night before and we decided to stay in and watch the movie.

I know some of you might be thinking: how lame to watch tv in your hotel room on vacation… But none of us have any tv at home. So for us, watching a movie sorta WAS vacation.

After the movie, we drove to the south unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

I would really like to read a few biographies on that guy… He played a big part in the establishment of a lot of our national parks it seems, and that fascinates me.

Anyway, the park shows off the grasslands and badlands of North Dakota.

Beautiful scenery. Incredible wildlife.

But mostly, I just get really excited about animals…

We saw more prairie dogs! They’re soooo cute!

Sorry the picture is a picture of my camera screen but it will have to do for now 😉

We also saw a TON of buffalo!

We had some time after the south unit of the park, so we drove an extra 60ish miles to check out the north unit.
